The GameCube Controller Adapter allows you to connect up to two GameCube controllers (or wireless GameCube controllers) to a Wii U system and PC USB. Switch to 'Wii U' or 'PC' mode by using the switch located on the side. Supports the GC/Wii Emulator Dolphin. Supports the built-in Vibration Feedback with no delays. I used to play netplay all the time using my mayflash 2 port usb adapter. I recently wiped my computer and had to setup everything again. Although, when I go to configure the controller, I get 2 options, DInput 1 and DInput 2. No matter which one I chooose or have my controller plugged into, dolphin.
This is definitely a must-have accessory for your Wii U if you are a huge Smash Bros fan. You simply cannot beat the controller experience of a classic GameCube controller in that game. It also works in other games, but Smash is without a doubt the priority here, since most other games I'm more easily able to adjust to different controllers.
These are starting to be much more easily purchasable from major retailers, so I would highly recommend against paying more than MSRP for one of these and supporting scalpers. I finally, after several months of waiting, was able to snag one from amazon and couldn't be happier. Just be patient and you'll definitely be able to get one more easily as time passes.
I even tried some alternatives while waiting for the official adapter. I bought several Hori Battle Pads and PDP Fight Pads. These are GameCube-style controllers that plug into your Wii remotes, which makes them semi-wireless. They worked well and were certainly an upgrade from using the Wii U gamepad, Wii remote, or even the pro controller, but were still not quite as good as the real deal. Finally, with this adapter, I can use my actual GameCube controller and classic control scheme I'm used to, and finally with rumble too!
The third party adapters seem to be an acceptable replacement if you're too impatient to wait for an official one. I haven't tried them all, but I did try one third-party GameCube adapter and it looked and functioned identically to the Nintendo brand adapter. It only was missing the Wii U logo on it, and didn't have as pretty of a box (no big deal).
So while this accessory is king, don't be willing to pay more than necessary for it, as there is a larger stock of these on its way to retailers, and plenty of third-party options that will also allow you to use GameCube style controls on your Wii U.

Gamecube Controller Not Working Dolphin
Archived
Hello all, I got ripped off and upon ordering a Mayflash GC adapter.. I received an unboxed Nexilux one instead! Free windows calendar for windows 7. Over the next few days I'll see if I get a refund or not.
Either way, I've been hoping to see if the Nexilux GC adapter is at all compatible with Dolphin. So far, I have followed the Dolphin instructions on the wiki and set the adapter to WiiU mode, installed the Zadig drivers, and attempted using 'Gamecube Adapter for Wii U' to try to play Pokemon XD, no response. In Dolphin 4, I attempted to use Direct Connect and got no response either.
Upon flipping the switch to PC mode, I attempted to set the gamecube controller up as a gamepad. Windows recognizes it, but doesn't let me configure or test it in its game pad settings. Upon selecting 'Standard Controller' and going to Configure in the Controller Settings panel, I only get the device ID for my keyboard.
Any help for getting this working would be much appreciated.
